What is this Strange looking, yet very
Exotic flower?
This is called the Rafflesia arnoldii.
It is a member of the genus known as Rafflesia. All Rafflesia are now known as
endangered species and is now treated as endangered.
What is so special about this Flower?
First of all, It is only found in
Indonesia, in the rainforests of Sumatra and Java Island.
Secondly, It is the largest individual
flower found on planet earth. It is larger than a human head around 1 meter across and weigh up to 7 kilograms.
There is a catch behind the
beauty of this majestic flower. It stinks. It produces the odder of rotting
flesh and decaying organic matter. The reason behind this is to attract insects
to visit and help pollinate. This flower also only blooms once every year. So
